Carl B. Seeds Inc., Hydro-jetting a sewer line for the National Park Service.

If your pipes are clogged or sluggish it’s time to call Carl B. Seeds Inc. to clean them properly.  We offer hydro jetting of sewers throughout our entire service area.  This service will fix the water flow throughout your commercial and residential sewers (We do not hydro-jet small drains, i.e. kitchen sinks, tubs), clearing sludge and debris.

NOTE:  Hydro-Jetting is not recommended inside of homes or businesses because it is not effective.  Hydro-Jetting is performed through a main sewer line where permitted by the State, Commonwealth or County. The District of Columbia does not allow manholes to be opened by sewer & drain cleaning companies.

Hydro-Jetting In Making Your Sewer Lines Like New

Hydro-Jetting is one of the most popular ways to clear your main sewer lines. This powerful means of cleaning your pipes is perfect for everyone, whether you own a home or a business. For those people who have not used hydro-jetting before, it is important to learn about all of the different ways that you can use this service for your benefit. Let’s take a closer look at ways that you can benefit from hydro-jetting.

What Is Hydro-Jetting?

Before we take a look at the ways that your home or business will benefit from hydro-jetting, it is important to know what hydro-jetting entails. Hydro-jetting is a way of cleaning out sewers that involve pumping high-pressure water through the main sewer line. Using 4,000 psi water sprays, this process will blast through any blockages that are in the main sewer pipe. The benefits to using the hydro-jetting method are that they clear the entire diameter of the sewer pipe and that they can be used in a variety of settings without damaging your plumbing.

When used in a larger pipe setting, these hydro-jet pumps use nozzles that spin to get greater coverage of the pipe. They can rotate at speeds up to 10,000 rpm, completely clearing the pipes of grime while unblocking them.

Using Hydro-Jetting On Main Sewer Lines To Prevent Backups

Hydro-jetting a main sewer line is one of the best ways to ensure that your pipes are as clean as the day that they were installed.

A very common problem that occurs with main sewer lines is that they get a large amount of build-up over years of being used. This can lead to water flowing back up into the home, bringing raw sewage and a great amount of damage to your belongings. Of course, there are warning signs ahead of time that, if noticed, should send up a red flag that you could use hydro jetting to prevent catastrophe from occurring.

The hydro-jet will use its powerful blasts of water to break through the sewage clogs that most frequently cause these backs ups. This hydro jetting process will flush all of the debris through the pipes while also scouring the pipes as they go to return them to a high level of cleanliness. The end results are clean sewer pipes, better drainage, and a decreased chance of problems in the future.

Main Line Sewers- Battling The Roots

Another one of the most common problems that face people who are having problems with their main line is that the pipes have roots penetrating through them. These roots can cause severe problems with backups, damage to the pipes, as well as difficulty performing maintenance on the pipes. However, services for hydro-jetting in through the sewers make short work of these roots by using the powerful sprays of water in conjunction with special nozzles that can break them up. If they are too large to be cut through entirely, the hydro-jet simply blasts as much of the covering from the root as possible, making certain that the root will die off.

Using hydro-jetting in this manner is a form of preventive maintenance. Regularly schedule hydro-jetting sessions will keep your main sewer pipes free of debris while weakening roots over time.

Use Hydro-Jetting For Kitchen Drain Build-Up

One of the primary uses of hydro-jetting in main line sewers is to clean the way for other drains to flow properly. Whether the kitchen drains or bathtubs is used in a home or business setting, they are commonly filled up with sludge from food and soap mixtures being pumped down into them over time. This can cause a build-up that will cause backups into the sink as well as poor drainage.

In this case, hydro-jetting equipment would be fed into the sewer main (not through sinks, tubs or floor drains)  and then activated so that it can blast through any of the blockages that are present. Food blobs, hair, toothpaste- all of these are blasted away while the jets simultaneously clean your pipes so that they are free of build up once again.

These are all reasons why you should count on hydro-jetting in to keep your main sewer lines functional and clean. Save yourself time, effort, and clean-up by having this service regularly provided for your home or business.
