Wish for a Self Cleaning Septic Tank

by

Septic Tank Cleaning

If only you had a self cleaning septic tank then you’d never have to call the service company to come out to do it. But, the fact is there is no such thing. So once every year to three years, depending on the usage it gets, you’ll need a septic system service company come and do the work. The more careful you are of what you put in the septic system the longer between cleaning appointments.

Some examples of things that can bring the cleaning septic tank service people sooner include cleaning chemicals that can unbalance the delicate natural balance that works to decompose the wastes. Pesticides or herbicides that get into the system can also cause this problem as can cooking oils and greases. Allowing non-biodegradable products to be flushed down the toilet and so enter the septic system.

When it’s time to call for cleaning septic tank service they’ll arrive in a large pump truck. This pump truck will then remove the solids, leaving just a thin layer at the bottom to begin the process all over again. When they do the cleaning they will also do an overall inspection of your system to make sure pipes are not corroding, vents are working properly and that all pumps and motors are in good working order. The last thing you want is for something to go wrong.

During the time that the cleaning septic tank service people are working the best thing that you can do is stay out of their way. Believe it or not cleaning a septic system can be a dangerous job and there are far too many innocent accidents that can cause serious injury or even death. This may surprise some people, but the inside of a septic tank is not a friendly place. There is methane gas in there and that alone can kill you. For the same reason is it unwise to light a match, or anything else, near the open septic tank. That is why youíll never see a septic tank cleaning by only one person. For safety, there must be a second man on the job.

Call Carl B. Seeds when you’re septic tank needs cleaning.
